R.A. Salvatore Completes Episode II Novel's First Draft
Posted by Tirion
The Official Site
reports that R.A. Salvatore has completed his first draft of the Attack of the Clones
novelization:
"I'm having a blast with this," the author says.
"I had a great meeting up at the Skywalker Ranch with George Lucas, and really got
some insights into what he's trying to accomplish beyond the film."
Among Lucas' mandates for the novel is that Salvatore
concentrate on Padmé's side of the story. "George actually took me down the
screening room and showed me all the stuff they shot with Natalie Portman and Hayden
Christensen," says Salvatore. "They were beautifully shot. She's quite a
presence, and Hayden holds his own. He does a good job. "
In addition to the screening and meetings with Lucas,
Salvatore thoroughly studied the script by George Lucas and Jonathan Hales. "I
thought the script had a lot of meat that I liked, because I like dark," he says.
"A lot of it's psychological. You've got this really torn teenager. You start seeing
the indications that something's not right in Anakin's world."

An Old Friend Has Returned
Posted by Tirion
Way back then, when Age of Empires dominated The Zone and
Rise of Rome was just coming out, I happened to meet a player in which I did not know at
that time would become a friend that I would still know to this day. We did not exactly
start off on the right foot since our two clans in AoE/RoR were at war at the time.
Then, after our enemies saw that their clan leader had made a huge mistake in creating
this riff, they quickly became friends with my clan at the time, the Imperial
Knights. That was when I came to know Gieste. Ever since, we had always been
in the same clan in Rise of Rome. This went on for many months and then EverQuest
rolled around and again, I found myself with all my old buddies from AoE / RoR, including
Sirion and Gieste, among others who have since departed never to be seen or heard from
again. We played for a good while and then, Gieste started to come on less and less until
finally it was a rare occurrence that I should ever hear or see from him again.
Almost 2 years had passed and I had left EverQuest and was surprised here and there to see
a friendly face came back and pop me a message here, a post there, or even an email.
Not too many days ago, it happened once more, this time Gieste saying he was coming back
to play full time with the old crew of Sirion and myself once more. Gieste was a
killer DMer (Death Match Player) in AoE/RoR and I know he will be a great friend and
teammate in Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds. So please welcome our newest Trial
Member and one of my oldest online friends, Gieste.
